Gas strut / Gas spring

Pneumatic motion-control component used for lifting, counterbalancing, damping, and supporting heavy lids, hatches, or structural covers. It operates via high-pressure nitrogen gas sealed inside a precision cylinder; as the internal piston rod is compressed into the cylinder, the gas displacement creates outward spring pressure while internal hydraulic oil provides smooth end-of-stroke damping. Once installed between a fixed frame and a moving element, it reduces the physical force needed to lift a load and holds it securely in an open position.
